John has been in
the Computer Aided Design, Manufacturing and Documentation arena for the past
10 years. Some of his more colorful
assignments have taken him across the United States and to Europe.
During the early nineties as CAD Operations Manager for Atlas
Copco, he configured, implemented and managed an "expert" level CAD system.
Collaborating with colleagues
across the globe, in Germany, Sweden, and New York, a world
wide corporate product design, manufacturing, documentation
and communication system was built. With
a keen interest in mechanical engineering and manufacturing,
he began his career as an apprentice for a German Master
Machinist. (Computerized Numerical Control), CNC machine
tool technologies were in their infancy, he quickly adapted
these emerging new technologies to real world manufacturing solutions,
becoming one of the industries leading CNC programmers,
tooling and manufacturing process specialist.
During
undergraduate work, his research papers were published with
the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, Prime Computer,
Digital Equipment Corporation, ComputerVison, and the European
CAD council. He
has since shared this experience through a series of computer
aided system configuration, integration and implementation
projects.
Growing up on the
west coast,
John feels his cultural roots deeply
with an utmost respect for the sea, through surfing, kayaking,
marine science, and interest in the arts as an author, singer and
songwriter.
